Our impartial approach requires an independent broker/dealer—one who does not offer any proprietary products or investments. With this in mind, we have chosen to work with Commonwealth Financial Network®. Commonwealth is the largest privately owned independent broker/dealer in the United States, which provides a partnership that is focused on supporting its financial advisors and their clients. Utilizing an independent firm allows us access to open-architecture solutions for our clients and to world-class asset managers.

2.       Depth

One of the tangible benefits to our clients is the depth and breadth of our professional team.  In addition to our firm’s talented individuals, we have engaged with seasoned financial professionals, both locally and nationally, to bring different perspectives and fresh ideas to the table. Incorporating this group of financial planners, portfolio managers, and fiduciary professionals helps us to craft the best plan for each client's situation.

Portfolio Management:

  • Locally, we have partnered with the Michigan Advisory Council, which made up of 5 financial advisors from 4 wealth management firms in Southeast Michigan, with more than 60 years of collective investment and economic expertise.  This council meets on a monthly basis to provide cutting-edge economic data from various sources and client experience best practices. During the monthly meetings, each asset class is evaluated for the best investment opportunity for our clients and quarterly the relative weightings between the asset classes are evaluated based on current global markets factors. 
  • Nationally, we have partnered with Commonwealth's Research Team of 22 highly qualified investment professionals with a collective experience of more than 100 years.  This Commonwealth Team currently has 9 Chartered Financial Analysts (CFAs) and 9 Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIAs).  This valuable Research Team provides evaluation and research directly to us regarding our portfolio construction on a monthly basis and provides daily market and economic update calls.

Financial Planning:

  • Locally, we are members of the Washtenaw Estate Planning Council, which includes estate planning attorneys, CPAs, and investment professionals who get together four times a year to learn and review current laws and trends that affect our clients.
  • Nationally, we have partnered with Commonwealth’s Advanced Planning team of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM / CFP® Professionals and estate planning attorneys.  This team provides us with a partnership of deep expertise as we prepare the customized financial plans.
  • We also have teamed up with Bank of Oklahoma, which has more than 135 trust, fiduciary, and investment officers.  Trust officers from the bank come to Michigan regularly to meet with clients and become part of their personal service team.  This allows us to facilitate comprehensive fiduciary services to our clients for a seamless experience when full trust services are needed.*
